I alway amused by high-rise apartment window. No, I have little intention to peep some other people life. It is just window. As someone has say it, man eye (to be political correct, this includes woman eye) are window of the soul. Watching the windows is like looking at the soul of the city.

Once upon a time, famous Chinese social-political critique, Miss Long Ying Tai, reside in an Europe rural town. The place are a historical township. Most houses has few hundred years of history. The increase neighbourhood crime rates make her worry about possible burglary and ransacking of the house whenever the family is on vacation. Talking with her neighbour, she had learn that the old woman even place a 100 dollar bills on the tables, “I hope by getting something they want, the burglar might just leave my house and spare those furnitures.”

A question is brewing in her mind : why nobody in the town bother to install window grills to prevent burglary, like most Asian people staying in unsafe township?

Alas, she realize window grill is ugly from the outside. And the meaning of the window grill is not positive either. And these people in the township, will not bother to think about it. So Long Ying Tai just follow what the people did, because one shouldn’t take the buglary as a reason to punished themselves with ugliness.

Coming back to Malaysia. If you spread the idea, I bet most people will say you are too poor to install a window grill.
